FROM NATASCHA BIEBOW
Regional Advisor (Chair) SCBWI,
British Isles region

The SCBWI is a network for the exchange of knowledge among writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, agents, librarians, educators, booksellers and others involved with literature for young people. There are currently more than 19,000 members worldwide, in over seventy regions, making it the largest children’s writing organization in the world.

Through our conferences, seminars, critique groups, website resources and quarterly newsletter, the SCBWI British Isles region aims to help writers and illustrators develop their craft. The Undiscovered Voices anthology presents a new and exciting means of networking with the publishing industry.

The number of entries for the first anthology far exceeded our expectations and we are hoping for the same with the second anthology. Undiscovered Voices was the idea of fellow SCBWI volunteer, Sara Grant, who I’d like to thank for her vision, initiative and energy in bringing it to fruition. In addition, the SCBWI British Isles wishes to thank Sara O’Connor for her enthusiasm and hard work and Working Partners Ltd for their generous funding of the anthology.
